Hands-On Math

As we grow as math teachers, it is so vital that we learn new activities that can be used in the classroom. Students learn by doing. Therefore, it is so important that we stress using hands-on activities. We want our students to be active in the learning. Instead of sitting in the front of the classroom and lecturing, walk around and hear the conversations that are happening within cooperative group learning. Students will gain so much more out of discussing and finding their own results by doing the activities. Allowing students to explore and be engaged is also important. The link below not only has math but incorporates all subjects. This website is full of hands-on activities that students will be able to use in the classroom. It also divides the activities up by the areas of math.
